The little Indian field mouse (Mus booduga) is a species of rodent in the family muridae. Dorsum is buff to light grey in colour and the venter is white or pale grey. Tail length is almost equal to head-body length. Ear pinnae are large, circular and prominent. it is found in bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Nepal, and sri lanka.

Distribution and habitat

This species is common in ricefields and other irrigated croplands in India. The range of this largely South Asian species is tough to define, because it is commonly confused with Mus terricolor. It happens in tropical and subtropical dry deciduous forests (Molur et al. 2005). In Myanmar, it lives in drier, sandy environment and scrubby areas, and could be a serious tormentor in cropland areas. it’s been recorded wide in India Sri Lanka, eastern Pakistan, southern Nepal, Bangladesh and central Myanmar.

Mus Booduga Characteristics

Head and body length is 7 cm. Tail is 6 cm. higher components a shiny brownness weakening to gray white or white on the ventral surface. giant rounded ears attack the top. Muzzle rather pointed. Tail is dark higher than, and paler below. higher incisors curve backwards.
